Rob Colliver’s South Downs Way Double-Double

This weekend Rob completed the Southdowns Way four times in succession. That’s a 400 mile round trip. The route is hardly ever flat and the total amount of ascent over one of the 100 mile legs adds up to 12,000ft - to give you some idea that’s like climbing Ben Nevis 10 times! Rob started 6am Saturday from Winchester and finished 1pm Monday afternoon back in Winchester. Fifty five hours of riding. Awesome

Well done Rob !

Rob has trained for months and it has paid off – eating up the miles on his Turbo trainer 4 hours at a time and taking every opportunity to rack-up the miles by riding to club events; recently riding Havant to the Lake District to do some ‘shorter rides’ as he put it. It takes a certain type of character to be a long distance endurance rider and Rob completed his challenge with style and humour as he rode past everyone at the finish line to the cries of “STOP”
